About Typ0h

Mateo ‘Typ0h’ Chacon has been playing video games since he was four years old. His older brother Connor would consistently use the family console to play Modern Warfare 2, which left Mateo playing casual games such as Minecraft, Roblox, and Agar.io on the family computer. In middle school, Connor introduced him to Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. Mateo was hooked immediately and in eighth grade he decided to get serious about it and play ranked. During the first year, he placed A- in ESEA, Level 7 on FACEIT, and achieved the ‘Master Guardian II’ rank in regular matchmaking. Once Fortnite came out, Mateo slowly left Counter-Strike: Global Offensive to play it. Soon after, he achieved his first competitive earnings in duos with his good friend, Bryce. Their first placement took place in the final week of the Fortnite World Cup, where both of them earned $400. Mateo continued to play Fortnite for the next two years and earned over $1.3K from tournaments. His time with Fortnite came to an end once Valorant came out. The concept was one he was very familiar with from his years playing Counter-Strike, except this time with character abilities. In beta he ranked Diamond 3 and then stopped playing to go back to Fortnite. Mateo’s mentality for competitive games was at an all-time low, as he was becoming impatient to become the best as quickly as possible. He was not able to place in Fortnite anymore and felt the need to stop playing. With some time, he picked himself back up and came back to Valorant to peak at Top 2000 Immortal. Mateo is now ready to not only work on his in-game capabilities, but also his mental-state to be one of the best players and show the world what he is made of.
