In 2016, a high school friend introduced him to Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and inevitably, the world of Esports. Cloud9’s team and roster at the time inspired Roland to pursue a professional career in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. He achieved the ‘Legendary Eagle’ rank in regular matchmaking and placed Level 7 on FACEIT a few years later. Roland spent his free time attending LANs to compete at the local-level. Attending these tournaments only fueled his newfound love and passion for competition. When Valorant came out, he knew it was his chance to truly attempt to pursue a career in Esports. His journey began by reaching Immortal and joining Team Flux in closed beta as their first-time IGL. With them, he won the inaugural online Moonrise Tournament, but after a month of poor results and dropping out of the Team Liquid Academy Tournaments & Nerdstreet Gamers Qualifiers, the team decided to part ways with Roland due to inexperience. He went on to play as IGL with Veva for a couple of months, until the team disbanded due to insufficient funds. A friend of Roland’s then invited him to play for UNLV’s team, 8-Bit Esports. With only a week of practice under their belt, he and the team took second place in the HyperX Las Vegas LAN. Soon after, Roland took a break from competing in tournaments and Valorant altogether in order to get his life straightened out. Now, Roland is back in the scene and ready to compete like never before.” text_color=”#b6b6b6″ text_margin_top=”29px” title_margin=”-8px” custom_class=”deobio”][vc_empty_space height=”45px”][topscorer_core_sportspress_player_social_networks player_id=”3638″ title=”Follow Deo:” icon_color=”#b6b6b6″ icon_hover_color=”#a80000″ title_color=”#b6b6b6″][vc_empty_space height=”90px”][topscorer_core_sportspress_player_details skin=”light” sportspress_shortcode_id=”3638″][vc_empty_space height=”135px”][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_column][/vc_row]
